SINGERS

Stars & Idols will teach you a variety of great songs from the classics to today's top hits. Our studio focuses on vocal technique, as well as presentation and performance skills. We teach you how to use a microphone correctly, move to the music, and perform on a real stage! Singing increases your confidence, boosts your self-esteem and makes you feel good! Choose your own solos, sing with the group, learn  dance moves, and regularly perform in front of an audience.

BANDS

You or your child can come and play guitar, keyboard, drums, bass and/or sing in one of our bands with other people of similar age and ability — beginners to advanced. We jam for 40 minutes in a lesson covering many rock styles from the classics to today’s hits. We have electric guitars, basses, keyboards, electronic drum kits and professional sound gear for you to use or you can bring your own instrument!

    
 

 

  

 

  
 

Lessons follow Queensland school terms,
and are held Mondays to Saturdays.

Students perform regularly
at local celebrations and events such as:

- Australia Day at the Highfields Pioneer Village
- The Toowoomba Show
- The Carnival of Flowers
- School Fetes
- Relay for Life
- Christmas concerts
- Other small events and festivals

This helps our students gain confidence performing in public, which enhances other activities in life such as public speaking, auditioning for school musicals, Eisteddfods, other competitions, and general social situations.

GUITAR Level 1         Beginner – 0 to 5 chords
Level 2        Most open chords
Level 3        Barre chords
Level 4        Solos, lead guitar		  
BASS Level 1         Root notes of chords, single notes
Level 2        Add 5ths and octaves
Level 3        Add easy riffs, 12 bar blues etc
Level 4        Add more complicated riffs and swing feel		  
DRUMS Level 1         Keep beat with hands only, no feet
Level 2        Basic rock beats
Level 3        Rock beat, swing beat, simple fills
Level 4        Complicated beats and difficult fills		  
KEYBOARD

Level 1         Able to play single notes
Level 2        Full chords – simple minors and majors
Level 3        Full chords - sharps/flats, two hands (chords=right, root note=left)
Level 4        Inversions, improvise solos
